PLEASE DON'T TAG YOUR IMAGES WITH THE SA WEB ADDRESS
ANYMORE!
Theme: In the tradition of Conan
O'Brien's classic "Actual Items" gag, take ordinary
advertisements from the newspapers or catalogues, and add
strange and bizarre captions or messages. Like what, you ask?
Anything wacky enough to get somebody fired from their job if
they actually did sneak it into an ad, or anything completely
out of place. Try not to limit yourself to just thinking of
perverted lines to add, but rather try to be as goofy and off
kilter as possible. You can think outside the box if you want
and go beyond just adding in strange little messages, but I'll
leave that up to you.
Note: This is one of the
easiest themes ever assigned, so don't fuck it up by being an
incompetent stooge. If you can't figure out how to add in a
little bit of text with fairly close font matching and
readability, then don't bother to participate. Also, don't
take this as an invitation to submit 500 pictures, because I
can only use so many. It's a good idea to give a sort of
"magnification" to make the text more readable. See my
terrible starter pic for example of that. You can do that in
more ways than one, so don't feel you have to do it exactly
like I did.
ANYBODY WHO DOESN'T
READ THIS IS GOING TO PRISON
There are some very
basic rules to Photoshop Phriday designed to keep things neat,
orderly, flame free, and on track. This isn't hard or
complicated, and every one of these rules is here for a
reason. For the love of all that is holy read this, the
very first post, before you even think of replying.
- Keep your sigs off. People have a lot to download, so
don't add to that by leaving your sig on. I don't care if
you have a text only one, just leave it off.
- Keep your images reasonably sized. All Phriday images
should be under 500 pixels in width, as not to break the
layout of the feature for people with lower resolutions.
Bigger images worth including will be cropped or resized,
so if you don't want your work messed up, work within the
guidelines. Also keep your file sizes small. THEY
SHOULD BE UNDER 60KB. I will probably optimize them
down further later since the amount of views the Phriday
gets puts a load on the server.
- Please do not tag your images with
the SA web address. Thanks to OMGWTFBBQ, that
will be done fairly automatically when I'm putting the
feature together, eliminating the need for you to add in
the SA tag. It will generally be placed in the bottom left
corner, so try to leave that area clear. I will however
move it as not to disrupt any important parts of your
image if necessary. You can still tag the image with your
own name if you want.
- Avoid clichés and go easy on the inside jokes. NO
GODDAMN FIESTA CAT, ALRIGHT?
- DO NOT USE THIS THREAD FOR
DISCUSSION AND OR COMMENTS. There is a
discussion thread stickyed to the top of General Bullshit.
Keep your chitchat, bitching, and praising there and not
here. This is a Photoshop thread. We want to see funny
pictures, not jibber jabber. Posting placeholders is also
forbidden. I don't want to see more yammering than images
or people derailing this thread to yak about their periods
or other girl stuff. Don't post "Win" or "5, manbabies"
either, you dolts.
- Keep your images work safe and non-racist. What does
work safe mean? It means that it can be viewed in a
moderately conservative atmosphere, such as an office,
without getting somebody fired. That means no nudity,
rotten images, etc.
- Have fun! Deadline is Thursday. I tend to start
working on the feature around 7:00PM CST, although I'll
still take submissions as long as I'm awake. Try to finish
before midnight.
